How to get the most from your candles & use them safely
To help you enjoy your candles at their best (and safely too), here are a few simple tips:
For a nice, even burn, we recommend lighting your candle for no more than 3-4 hours at a time.
Before each burn, trim the wick to around 5mm. This helps prevent smoking, mushrooming, and tunnelling.
Never leave a candle burning unattended, and always keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Place your candle on a heat-safe surface, away from drafts and anything that could catch fire.
Avoid moving your candle while it's lit or the wax is still hot.
Refill care
Once your candle has finished, you can clean out your jar using hot (not boiling) water to gently melt away any leftover wax, then wipe it clean. Please avoid putting your jar into the dishwasher.
Remove the wick disc and dispose of it.
Before reusing your jar, just take a moment to check it over. Glass can naturally wear over time, so make sure there are no cracks or imperfections before using it again.
When you're ready, simply remove the packaging from your refill and place it into your jar.
For the best burn, light your candle and allow it to melt all the way across the top-this usually takes around an hour. This helps prevent tunnelling and you'll get the most out of your refill.
Our refills are designed to be used in our glass jars and aren't intended to be used on their own as pillar candles or in other vessels.
